Now that Erika Jayne has announced she and Tom Girardi will be divorcing, will she actually start to share her life on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?
Erika Jayne announced yesterday that she and Tom Girardi will be divorcing and obviously, the internet was in a tizzy. Erika is known for sharing very little of her personal life on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and only offering a look at her perfectly curated character’s life, but will that change with this announcement? Many fans thought it was her time to go ahead of season 11, but perhaps this will be a part of her upcoming storyline?
Obviously, in the world of housewives, a divorce is a huge opportunity for a storyline. Just look at NeNe Leakes and Gregg Leakes. They got divorced, she dated other people, they got back together and got married again. They even got a spin-off, I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding. That’s years worth of storyline for anyone! But in order for that to happen, Erika would actually have to open up a little.
We know Tom will want no part of this situation played out on television, but will he have a choice? It’s not like he has to be there for it to be discussed. Or perhaps there will be some sort of non-disclosure agreement in place so Erika cannot discuss the details of the divorce. What if Bravo gave her a spinoff: Erika Jayne Finds Love! Just kidding, that sounds horrendous.
The couple doesn’t have children together and though Tom is a wealthy man, he’s also a high-powered lawyer that isn’t stupid. Whatever assets he has are probably under lock and key under a different name or trust somewhere over the rainbow. And to be fair, everyone assumed they had some sort of business arrangement marriage that wasn’t about love. This is probably all outlined on some document they signed 20 years ago (a document that wasn’t a prenup).
After how Erika treated the situation with Denise Richards and her private life, perhaps it is Erika’s time to shine in the spotlight. Denise asked for privacy just like Erika has, and we know how that turned out. Oh, how the turn tables!
Erika Jayne and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back next year on Bravo.
