Since her departure from RHOBH, it seems like Lisa Vanderpump has been much more involved in the drama on Vanderpump Rules.

After stepping away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it was clear Lisa Vanderpump wasn’t totally done with television.  She seems to have a solid working relationship with both Bravo and Andy Cohen, and even with some of the remaining housewives.  But since she hasn’t had to film for RHOBH, it seems like she’s spent more time with the cast of Vanderpump Rules…and their drama.

If you’ve been keeping up with the current season, Lisa has been a bigger character than normal in many of the scenes.  Though she’s always been semi-involved, this season she seems to be a main character.

In one of the recent episodes, Lisa even went on the cast trip to Las Vegas with the group.  And in an even more bizarre moment, her bra was found in the suitcase of Tom Schwartz.  She sat down with Scheana Shay to discuss her love life and was on the After Show with Jax Taylor.

So, what’s the deal?

Is Lisa just trying to stay relevant?  Her scenes on Vanderpump Rules don’t come off as authentic – they come off as forced.  Most of the original cast doesn’t even work for her anymore.  Under normal circumstances, she would have zero interaction with them.

But for obvious reasons, being a part of the show is easier for her.  She is still sharing screen time with others, but the show is still very much her show.  The drama doesn’t revolve around her, but she gets to offer her opinion on it anyway.  It is also much less of a commitment.  She basically just gets to show up and chat whenever she wants.

VPR has been struggling this season with authenticity and it seems that Lisa’s presence on the show isn’t helping the situation. So has Lisa only taken on a bigger role due to her reduced role on RHOBH, or would that have happened naturally?

Is this all just a ploy to set up a new Vanderpump Rules Las Vegas edition at the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden?  Only time will tell…

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back Wednesday at 8 PM on Bravo!
