Find out how Lisa Vanderpump is lending her support to a cause close to her heart – the wellbeing of animals both domestic and globally.

For as long as we can remember, Lisa Vanderpump has been working to help animals.  The Vanderpump Dog Foundation is a charity founded to create a better life for dogs, both here in the US and worldwide.  Lisa and her team worked hard towards getting the Yulin Dog Meat Festival shut down, as was seen during her last season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Since then,  The Vanderpump Dog Foundation has not stopped its efforts for man’s best friend.  Lisa recently assisted Congressman Alcee L. Hastings in a plea to the government to “immediately expand regulation and enforcement of ‘wet markets'” in China.  You can read the full press release on Hastings website.  The wet markets sell exotic wildlife and are generally not well regulated which leads to unsanitary conditions.

Earlier in the week, Lisa tweeted that this issue had been discussed in the documentary Robertson Productions and the foundation created, called The Road to Yulin And Beyond.  This film was featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The Vanderpump Dog Foundation has not only been focusing on education but has also been working with the World Health Organization to ban the consumption of dog meat.

The foundation helps adopt out animals in unsafe conditions, too.  The Real Housewives of New York City castmember, Tinsley Mortimer, went to China with the organization last year and adopted her two dogs, Strawberry and Shortcake, while on the trip.  Back here in the USA, Vanderpump Dogs runs a free spay/neuter day in their clinic, helps raise money for other domestic animal needs, and helps adopt out animals rescued from a variety of situations.
