Real Housewives of Potomac: The season 5 premiere will be delayed
By Amanda Cline
Bravo has decided to postpone the premiere of The Real Housewives of Potomac in order to have fresh programming throughout the summer.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and The Real Housewives of New York premiered as planned, but Bravo has decided to postpone the season premiere of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Season five was set for the evening of May 3, but that isn’t going to happen now, most likely due to a lack of programming through the summer.
No disruption for M2M fans!
As first reported by People, Married 2 Medicine Los Angeles will premiere as expected on the same Sunday night. The new date for RHOP hasn’t been announced yet, but will likely be staggered to ensure there is something new on television for the summer. Though the decision may be disappointing to some, it is actually better in the long run. It gives fans something to look forward to down the line, and there’s a better chance for an in-person reunion once we get there.
More delays on the horizon
The reunion for RHOA will likely air the night of the premiere in order to wrap up the season since it has been so long. Andy Cohen said on Radio Andy that he didn’t want to do the reunion virtually, but they also can’t put the crew and housewives at risk by having an in-person reunion taping right now. “We need to move forward. We need to live in reality right now, and reality right now is if we’re going to do this, we’re going to do this virtually.”
Below Deck, Southern Charm, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Real Housewives of Dallas, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey have all halted production, for the time being, putting a strain on new programming for the network.
The Real Housewives of Potomac will be back later this summer.
