The RHOA reunion was unable to be filmed in March, so adjustments had to be made.  Now the group will film the reunion by video conference.

Kandi Burruss was on Instagram live the other day to discuss what she’s been up to in quarantine in addition to the future of RHOA.  The reunion for season twelve was scheduled for filming in the middle of March, but that was indefinitely postponed given everything going on.  Since there is no end in sight, Kandi said that the reunion would be filmed in a different way this year: by video conference.

Each franchise has a schedule of filming, editing, reunion, and the airing of the show.  Since there are so many shows on Bravo in rotation, they do adhere to a strict schedule.  When things first started changing due to the coronavirus, viewers asked Andy Cohen and Bravo to move up the premiere dates of some of our favorite shows, such as RHONY and RHOBH, but that would throw things off even more further down the line.

Since production and filming for most shows have stopped, if they were to move things up, there could be a huge gap of new content later in the year.

By spreading it out and sticking to the normal schedule, it will prolong the content they already have filmed.  Last week, there was no new episode of RHOA in order to stretch out the remaining episodes through April.  That gives them time to film the reunion, over video chat or not, and get it edited before the time comes that it airs.

Unfortunately, The Real Housewives of Atlanta are one of the most dynamic and entertaining groups of women, especially at the reunion.  It would definitely be a different feeling if the women are just sitting at their desks shouting at one another.

So far, Watch What Happens Live @ Home has resumed filming via video chat, but production on other shows has not.  It could be a while before large groups are allowed to congregate together, and filming for any show requires a lot of people to be together at once.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is on every Sunday at 8 PM!
