Season 8 isn’t the first time Margaret Josephs was invited to join the RHONJ cast.

Margaret Josephs joined the cast of Real Housewives of New Jersey in Season 8 and quickly ingratiated herself with Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. It turns out that Marge was tapped to join RHONJ much earlier but the newcomer passed on the opportunity. It turns out, she may not have wanted to air all the skeletons and drama she was dealing with back then and waited until life was much smoother before hopping on the reality TV train.

It was back in 2013 that Bravo approached Margaret to start filming with the RHONJ ladies according to her own account. According to E! News, it was just after Season 5 that she claims that the reality TV casting directors came calling. If she had said yes, that means we could be on Margaret’s third season with the show instead of her first. Can you imagine?

“[They] actually approached me in 2013, we were discussing it last night at dinner, and I couldn’t do it that year,” Margaret dished. “It just wasn’t great timing.”

By not great timing, what Margaret means is that she was in the middle of a nasty divorce. Remember, she already revealed that she left her husband for the contractor. She even joked now that she’s married to said contractor, that he won’t let her hire any more men to come fix her house.

There’s also the issue of her former husband’s kids. Margaret Josephs has been estranged from them ever since they found out she was cheating on their dad and left them for another man. She has said on RHONJ that she’s heartbroken by the snub. It seems that his kids being upset about their dad getting cheated on and left would be something she anticipated.

Now that some of the drama has died down, it seems that Margaret wants to replace it with RHONJ drama. Of course, there’s also that part about getting paid. Surely she did it for the money too.

“Well, A. I’ve led many lives by the age of 50, and, at 50, I thought it was a great turning point. I’ve already had a business for a long time, all my kids are up and out of the house, and I thought this would just be a great opportunity to do something different,” Margaret said.

“The truth is, my whole life has been a reality series since birth, legit. You’ve seen Marge Sr. I thought it was just the next step in my career. I thought it would be fun. I thought it was great to show people that women could be entrepreneurial. I didn’t come from the Lucky Sperm Club. I pulled myself up by the boot straps, I’ve taken a lot of hits, so I thought I was also very relatable. And Jersey could definitely use a blonde, so I thought it was a good idea.”

So here we are. Margaret Josephs was added to Season 8 of Real Housewives of New Jersey and almost immediately went after Siggy Flicker. A die-hard RHONJ fan from way before she was even considered for the series, Margaret knew her best chance of success on the show would be to latch on to Teresa and Melissa and that’s exactly what she did. She also befriended Danielle Staub, who, by some miracle, is now friends with Teresa again.

Even though Margaret isn’t close with anyone on the RHONJ set, she’s managed to insert herself in every single drama this season. Bravo fans seem to be split about whether they like her or hate her with very little in between. It’s clear that Siggy hates her and has even blocked her on Twitter and I haven’t even said anything about those mid-life crisis ponytails yet.
