Last year's biggest Vanderpump Rules scandal has just had a major development: Rachel (Raquel) Leviss is suing Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix.
Variety reports that Rachel Leviss, who chose not to return for season 11 of Vanderpump Rules after season 10's major cheating scandal came to light, is suing her ex, Tom Sandoval, and his ex-fiance, Ariana Madix, for eavesdropping, revenge porn, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
For those who missed out on one of Bravo's biggest recent scandals (before Monica Garcia's secret Instagram account being revealed took that crown), it was revealed that Tom Sandoval was cheating on then-fiance Ariana Madix with Vanderpump Rules co-star Rachel Leviss when Ariana Madix found an explicit video of the two of them on Sandoval's phone. Now, that video is at the heart of this new lawsuit.
What does Rachel Leviss' lawsuit say about Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval?
According to the lawsuit, Rachel Leviss and her legal team assert that the videos were recorded "without her knowledge or consent, which were then distributed, disseminated, and discussed publicly by a scorned women seeking vengeance, catalyzing the scandal."
According to the legal claims made by Leviss, Vanderpump Rules was fading in popularity prior to Madix discovering a video of herself and Sandoval on his phone and Scandoval skyrocketed it back into the headlines and, due to her part in the cheating scandal, Leviss claims that she "became an object of public scorn and ridicule."
As fans of VPR know, Rachel Leviss stayed fairly silent for the majority of 2023 and refused to return for season 11 of the show. Season 11 takes place directly after the Scandoval news broke and has been largely focused on the scandal, but doesn't feature Leviss herself as she is instead telling her story on a podcast of her own.
But, according to this lawsuit, Leviss wasn't silent for the rest of 2023 just because she was focusing on her mental health and choosing not to talk about the scandal as it had previously seemed. In the lawsuit, she alleges that she believed she wasn't allowed to talk about the scandal: "Leviss was misled by Bravo and Evolution into believing that she was contractually barred from speaking out about her mistreatment."
The suit also claims that Tom Sandoval received a bonus from the production company for his part in the cheating scandal, but Variety reports that a source close to the production has denied this part of her legal claim.
