Britney Spears suffers 2 a.m. bathtime malfunction

Britney Spears has shared a photo explaining just how badly her 2 a.m. bath went last night. The 39-year-old singer, making July 2020 headlines for a tasteful and nude bathtub snap, was back to self-care on Tuesday, but her 32.8 million Instagram followers didn’t get any sensual “me time” photos.

Instead, Britney’s fans got the reveal that the “Circus” singer wound up locked in her own bathroom, and with no help – boyfriend Sam Asghari was sleeping as Spears explained the “lock was stuck.”

Britney, largely making headlines these past weeks for her ongoing conservatorship battles with 69-year-old dad Jamie Spears, shared a photo peeking one of the bathrooms in her L.A. mansion. The Grammy winner explained that she’d “decided to take a bath” at 2 a.m. Further, that she was keen to use her new Victoria’s Secret body lotion to help her sleep.

Sleep did not come easily to Britney last night as the planned late-night soak turned into a nightmare. Britney revealed that once inside her bathroom, she’d considered drinking her coffee from the morning, but that it was “gross.” Then came the technical problems as the star looked for her face wash.

“I was caught up in my head looking for it for about 15 minutes and then realized it’s probably in the other bathroom … then I went to leave and the door was locked 🔒 … I thought ok well it’s a bathroom, I can open the damn door 🚪 … no, the lock was stuck !!!!” she wrote.

Britney continued: ” I got locked in the f-cking bathroom and my boyfriend was sleeping  😴 … even if there are earthquakes he doesn’t wake up.” After yelling Sam Asghari’s name four times, Britney finally got him to wake up, but the personal trainer’s attempts – which included a “pen” – failed.

In the end, Spears had to call security. While they took a while, they did come.

“15 minutes went by and they finally said they’d send someone up to open the door … 10 minutes later …. “HELLO ??? Is anybody there ???” the caption continued. Britney, who cleaned her bathroom to pass the time while locked in, closed with a mention of positive thinking. After downing the coffee she’d turned her nose up and staring at the door, she wondered if thoughts would work.

They don’t. However, security does. “Stand back! We’re going to open the door!” Britney related her team saying, closing: “It opened…it finally opened!!!”

Unsurprisingly, fans forming the #FreeBritney movement are interpreting the post as a metaphor for the singer’s life. While Spears has been permitted to choose her own legal representation, she remains under the grip of her father since 2008. “Hmm, sounds like a metaphor of what’s happening in her life,” one of the most popular comments reads.
