Erika Girardi and Tom Girardi have always been very proud of flaunting their wealth on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which is now backfiring.

Just kidding.  Since joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Erika Girardi, aka Erika Jayne, has been nothing but arrogant, cold, and consistently on the wrong side of arguments.  She’s never shared her life or been vulnerable, she hasn’t made viewers root for her, and she certainly hasn’t been likable.  Erika’s entire schtick has revolved around her more expensive to maintain and richer than viewers.

After Tom Girardi appeared for his day in court yesterday, things have started moving quickly for the couple.  Tom was held in contempt of court and their assets were frozen.  Since they aren’t divorced yet, that means Tom’s assets, Erika’s assets, and the assets of his company, Girardi Keese, are frozen as well.  The Pretty Mess sure is living up to her name.

Allegedly, Chicago-based U.S. Attorney John Lausch has requested that the judge unseal documents from a case against Tom from earlier this year, according to Federal Courts Reporter Jon Seidel.  “The government respectfully requests that the Court enter an order modifying its current sealing order to allow access by… any law enforcement, to any materials….regardless of when filed.”  Basically, this will open the floodgates to other cases where similar actions were taken by Tom, of which there have been more than 20 since 1995.

Some of her songs paint a picture that might have been intriguing at the time, but now might be used against her in court.  “Bentleys and Benzes / Through cash-colored lenses / Them dollars and cents-es / Cha-ching,” Erika sang in her XXpen$ive song.  Alligator, alligator / Drippin’ in storms / Eighteen karat, eighteen karat / Up in my bones / Best things in life are free / So I’ll keep on spending,” she sang in her song titled How Many .

In conclusion, Erika’s bragging about her wealth might be their downfall.  It wasn’t the initial thing to bring them down, but it certainly won’t help their case.  Imagine how long this could have gone on if Erika just sat at home and counted her stolen money quietly?  My, how the turn tables!

Erika Girardi & The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back next year on Bravo.
