Real Housewives of Potomac: No one wrote a statement for Candiace Dillard

The Real Housewives of Potomac are divided on their support for the ladies, but Ashley Darby picked a side that the others do not support.

The Real Housewives of Potomac might be in Portugal, but the situation with Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels back home is still impacting their trip.  Now that both ladies have decided to press charges on one another, Ashley Darby has been dragged into the mix.  Ashley claims it is because Monique had her back when Michael Darby was being a predator last season but is that really the case?

No proof of the proof

It has long been speculated that Monique has footage of the incident that she refused to share.  Because there wasn’t “concrete” proof of the incident (IMO, there was plenty of proof), Michael did not really get into trouble for grabbing the cameraman’s butt.  He got away with it and will continue to prey on people as he does.  But since Monique did not share that alleged footage, Ashley has been on her team.  When she asked Ashley to write a character assessment of Candiace, Ashley obliged.

No one was asked to write a statement for Candiace.  No one offered to write a statement for Candiace, even though they were all there and witnessed the fight.  If Candiace was really in the right like they all claim, why didn’t anyone back her up in court?  When asked why it was okay that Candiace attacks people at the drop of a hat, Robyn Dixon said, “She would do that to anyone. That’s a character flaw.”  And it is.  Perhaps that’s why no one actually wants to go to bat for Candiace.

The other RHOP ladies are firmly on Candiace’s side of things and do not empathize with Ashley’s decision at all.  Ashley spends her time trying to make Michael look better when she should have walked away from that disaster long ago.  While Ashley was struggling to get over her miscarriage, Michael was busy groping a cameraman.  While Ashley took their newborn son on a girl’s trip because he didn’t want to care for their child for two days, Michael was out with strippers and got caught in a hotel room with one.

Feel your feelings if you have them!

At this point, all of the ladies are allowed to feel how they feel.  Candiace can feel that she was attacked by Monique.  Monique is allowed to file her own charges.  Ashley is allowed to back up Monique, but she just happens to get a little extra out of it since she hates Candiace.  And to be fair, Candiace did threaten her with a knife last season and threw it at her.  They are all playing the same game here.

The entire situation has gone too far with all of the women, but everyone is far too committed to back down.  We know that the lawsuits got dropped for both parties, which means no one was deemed responsible, so where do we go from here?  No one volunteered to write a statement for Candiace, now did they?
