Dorinda Medley had a problem with Tinsley Mortimer all season long, but now that we know what happened, it makes her behavior look even worse.

It was revealed at the Real Housewives of New York reunion that Dorinda Medley found out that her boyfriend, John Mahdessian, received money from Scott Kluth.  “The betrayal that you felt for John manifested to anger towards me,” Tinsley told Dorinda, and she was spot on.  After that cast trip to Miami, something changed in Dorinda and her disposition.

Upon their arrival, Dorinda and Tinsley were on good terms.  The footage shown at the reunion was in the preview for last season but was never actually shown in an episode.  Dorinda can be seen and heard telling someone, presumably John, that he should not be running “game” behind her back.  She said Scott was not his friend and if she said he was supposed to steer clear of someone, they better listen.

When they came back for season 12, something was obviously sour between the two.  Dorinda was hell-bent on trying to embarrass Tinsley for everything from her curly hair, her lack of children, her boyfriend, and everything in between.  It certainly seemed like there was something we did not know about why Dorinda was being so unkind, but now we know it.

Tinsley even said that production was worried for her to stay in the house that night because Dorinda was acting out of control.  It really makes no sense why she would be mad at Tinsley for something that John did, and that John facilitated.  How is any of that Tinsley’s fault?

Dorinda was quick to note that a lot happened that we did not see on the show.  It isn’t clear what the money was for or why John needed it, but clearly Dorinda was embarrassed by the situation.  Again, how is that Tinsley’s fault?

Tinsley didn’t stay through all of season 12, which makes a lot more sense in hindsight.  She also did not mention any of this until now, more than a year, perhaps a year and a half after it happened.  The entire time Dorinda was focused on trying to make Tinsley look bad while Tinsley surely could have done worse if she wanted.

Of course, Dorinda denied all of this at the reunion.  “Tinsley, I’d hate your life,” was her last comment on the issue.  For someone who brought so much joy to the franchise for a few years, her spiral into darkness has been depressing to watch.

The Real Housewives of New York City reunion will continue next Thursday at 9 PM ET!
