Below Deck Mediterranean is busy assisting Tom Checketts in the kitchen this episode, as apparently he gets the support of the entire crew.
Is anyone else still mad that Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran was fired from Below Deck Mediterranean by Sandy Yawn after not knowing about Las Vegas food, but Tom Checketts is over here googling “Baseball” and gets nothing but support? He even had Malia White in the galley plating food. Since when does the bosun double as sous chef?
And for Sandy? She couldn’t be happier that Tom abandoned his sick uncle to come make green jello aboard The Wellington. Imagine is Kiki had half the support that Tom has? Sandy didn’t even let anyone help him when he clearly would have benefitted from an extra hand in the galley.
On another note, Malia and Tom seem to have very little chemistry, if any. The rest of the group, including Christine “Bugsy” Drake, seem petrified of upsetting him. Especially when Bugsy dropped a plate – I think she thought Tom was going to feed her to the jellyfish. Are Tom and Malia even dating or was this arrangement just for the show?
While Johnny Damon was literally taking his first bite of food, Sandy was there to watch him and harass him before he could even swallow. If this were Applebees, Sandy would have tossed that plate back in the microwave so fast! The poor guy didn’t even have time to set his fork down before Sandy started harassing him.
All in all, it is clear that Sandy favors Malia and that’s why Tom gets so much support in the kitchen. Sure, he isn’t doing a bad job, but he also has 8 people helping him out behind the scenes. And if Bugsy’s reaction to the dropped plate is anything to judge Tom by, they are only helping because they are afraid not to. Teamwork sure makes the dream work.
While we’re at it, if Malia has enough time to be a sous chef, doesn’t she have time to do laundry? I mean, since job roles on this motor yacht no longer matter, she better get to ironing.
Below Deck Mediterranean is on Bravo Monday nights at 9 PM ET!
