Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Vanderpump hasn’t heard from Stassi Schroeder
By Amanda Cline
Lisa Vanderpump opened up about Vanderpump Rules post-firings and how she thinks her racist staff could have learned from their mistakes.
Since the grand firing of Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni from Vanderpump Rules, Lisa Vanderpump has been fairly quiet on the subject. However, Lisa sat down with E! recently to discuss her upcoming podcast, her fired staff, and the future of Vanderpump Rules, among other things.
Lisa commented on the drama with Denise Richards and how she felt for her. She went on to say that they have a lot in common, mostly how the rest of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast has treated them, but also that they have adopted children and love dogs. Lisa said she believed Denise over everyone else, especially over Brandi Glanville – but admits she hasn’t actually watched any of this season.
While SUR is still closed due to the virus and lockdown orders in California, PUMP and TomTom are currently open for outdoor seating. Whenever they do get back to filming, Lisa says things will be different. She says that she still struggles with the decision to fire Stassi and Kristen, but she still “loves them both.”
Lisa says that she’s reached out to Stassi two or three times about her pregnancy and everything else, but she hasn’t heard back from her former employee. Neither Stassi nor Kristen have actually worked for Lisa directly at the restaurants for a while, but they were always around for filming.
“I think it’s sad, really, what happened, because I do think that people can learn from their mistakes.” Lisa also says she thinks Stassi’s pregnancy could have been a good storyline for her. Lisa clarified she does believe in a zero-tolerance policy for standing up for what’s right (huh?) but thinks Stassi and Kristen could have grown from the situation.
After all was said and done, it wasn’t exactly Lisa’s choice to keep or fire anyone. That came down to Bravo and Evolution (the production company). Lisa says when season 9 does come back, it will be more diverse. So expect some token new people to help rehab the Vanderpump Rules image. “I mean, I’m always all about that. Our companies are like the United Nations.”
As far as the All Things Vanderpump podcast, Lisa says it will cover all kinds of topics. Fan questions, inspiring people, a look into her many business ventures, and everything in between. Riveting stuff, you guys.
Vanderpump Rules is on Bravo….for reruns.
