RHOA: NeNe Leakes must have a staff of writers because she is a whole character
The RHOA Reunion continued this past Sunday and needless to say, it was a doozy. After this season and reunion though, I’m convinced NeNe Leakes has a staff of writers.
The latest season of RHOA has officially come to a close. Filled with the usual antics, drama, and shade of any Real Housewives of Atlanta season, this season had all sorts of extra little tidbits. From the return of Kenya Moore full time to snakegate, this season was full of tasty little morsels to sink our shady little teeth into. The ladies fought, made up, and fought some more, which is all about par for the course.
From the cookie lady to Ken(ya) saying shut up with more colorful language, there are bags of little soundbites and scenarios to hold us until next season. While all of that was amazingly entertaining on its own, no one quite showed up like NeNe Leakes. In fact and at this point, I am convinced that NeNe has her own staff of writers to help her out.
First off, when it comes to her actions, there has to be someone writing her moves. Whether you think about snakegate, her fiasco with Wendy Williams, or the rumors about her and her husband, Gregg Leakes, her storyline this season has been nothing short of breathtaking.
It isn’t just the pure entertainment in the written storylines though. The way that Nay Nay went about executing these storylines at times was nothing short of Oscar-worthy.
The shade of it all
You also have to talk about her shade. When thinking about the jabs that Leakes throws, they seem right from the pages of a seasoned comedy writer. Let’s specifically look at one set of remarks from the reunion. This is the set where she was going back and forth with castmate, Eva Marcille Sterling.
When going back and forth with the former Top Model, Leakes said that America’s Next Top Model was the “last time that she was on top”. This followed and preceded other swift jabs, but the way she delivered them was superb.
Lastly, when looking at her performance on the reunion, it was definitely something straight out of Hollywood. From the way she acted when actively apart of a particular segment, to the “talking to herself” but clearly talking to the camera monologues she executed while others were talking about here or scenarios she was involved in, to finally the way that she left an almost perfectly placed note on the keyboard of her computer that was closed just enough to not show her, but not enough to not show the message on the paper.
This was all right off of a call sheet and script. We don’t mind it though, it made for better television. Nene has always been good television.
The season may be done, but the drama never stops with these ladies. We will continue to keep a check on the headlines and social media to see how things continue to develop heading into next season. This last and latest season though, NeNe Leakes’s writers really earned their paychecks.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be back next year.
