RHOA: Wendy Williams says Nene Leakes is done with the show

I doubt anyone asked Wendy Williams about the cast of RHOA, but she told her audience that her friend, NeNe Leakes, is quitting the show.

As first reported by PEOPLE, Wendy Williams told the audience of her show, The Wendy Williams Show, that NeNe Leakes was quitting RHOA.  Well, she sort of sold Nene out more than “told the audience,” but that’s Wendy’s schtick – shock and awe.  Wendy claims that while on a commercial break, Nene text her and said simply, “I’m quitting,” early Tuesday morning.

Nene’s representative told PEOPLE, “It’s been an especially difficult couple of weeks for NeNe, and she was venting to her friend in private correspondence. Nothing has been confirmed or officially decided for next season.”  NeNe also took to her Instagram the following day to post a photo that said, “WHO SAID DAT!?!?! #SMH.”

To add to her bombshell news, Wendy also claims NeNe is hiding some sort of secret that will make viewers “cry, be sad and feel bad.”  Wendy went on to say, “She’s carrying the weight of a huge thing on her shoulders.”  Of course, is this Nene’s own doing to stay on the show?

If you’ve been watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta this season, you’d notice very little screentime for NeNe.  She’s occasionally present for group trips, but mostly her presence has been a catalyst for huge fights.  In Toronto, she was evasive about who has the recording of Cynthia Bailey talking trash.  But some viewers suspect that there isn’t even a recording – it’s just to keep NeNe relevant and involved in the drama.

If NeNe actually had a secret that Wendy knew, I highly doubt her response would be a cheeky Instagram photo.  She’d be mad – and everyone would know it.  We’re on to you, NeNe and Wendy…I wonder how the ratings were the day following the on-air slip?
