Dorit Kemsley is focusing on her next venture on RHOBH – decorating the floor, ceiling, and lighting in a single Buca di Beppo restaurant.

Have you all ever been to a Buca di Beppo?  I’ve been in a few, and they all look sort of the same.  Tons of photos all over the walls, odds and ends, bits and pieces, and lights and sounds.  Old ads from many years ago plastered next to photos of people we don’t know.  Bright red lights, red booths, and red checkered table cloths.  It is a family-style restaurant meant for sharing a meal with your family.  But what the heck does that have to do with Dorit Kemsley and RHOBH?

Robert Earl, her “business partner,” has brought her on to help decorate a room for him.  Again, as far as I can tell, they are all decorated in a similar fashion – chaos.  Robert and PK Kemsley apparently go way back, which is how she got this spectacular gig.  When Dorit went to visit him, he said he needed to know Dorit’s level of commitment to Buca di Beppo.  He gave her a three out of five on the commitment scale.

Um, again, she’s decorating a single room for a place that’s not exactly known for its upscale design.  What kind of commitment is he looking for?  Papier-mâché tomatoes and hand-made collages of pasta dishes?  Robert said he didn’t just want this to be fun, he wanted her fully committed. Dorit apparently has free run of the floor, the ceiling, and the lighting.  That doesn’t even include the walls.

“I’m not washing the tomatoes, I’m not greeting the guests.  I’m staying within my wheelhouse of creative and design.”  Does anyone remember her disastrous window for Beverly Beach?  She could barely move balloons around to make it look better.  What are we even doing here?

PK eventually asked Robert if he had consulted fellow restauranteur, Lisa Vanderpump.  Dorit decided to say that Lisa wanted nothing to do with her and she wasn’t sure if this would be an issue for her.  In the next breath, she said Lisa hasn’t spoken to her and had locked up and threw away the key on their friendship.

So, why would she care?  Dorit is decorating A SINGLE ROOM in a SINGLE ITALIAN RESTAURANT that is a NATIONAL CHAIN.  What does that have to do with Lisa, other than the fact that she, too, serves pasta?

After the conversation about Lisa, it seems like this whole this was cooked up as a way to discuss her in a roundabout way.  Was someone struggling to have a storyline that didn’t revolve around her finances?  Probably.  Was this the best course of action to hide that?  Probably not.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back Wednesday at 8 PM on Bravo!
