RHOBH: Dorit Kemsley’s financial woes are front and center this season

Dorit Kemsley is doing her best to explain away her shady financial status, but the producers aren’t letting her off easy this season.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills quickly got the title of being the least authentic franchise out of them all, and it is clear why.  Dorit Kemsley’s storyline this season is pretending she has no financial issues while clearly having financial issues.  She seems to have an answer to every question thrown her way, albeit an unbelievable one.  While explaining how she and PK had purchased a new 9,000 square foot home in Encino, a producer asked Dorit off-camera, “Why is the house in your name and not both of your names?”

Dorit responded, “Well what difference does that make?  Is your house in both your and your wife’s name?”  Uh yeah Dorit, that’s usually how it works.  Answering a question with a question is also a sure way to look guilty.  This was right around the time when Dorit claimed she “froze her own bank accounts” even though that clearly wasn’t the case.  The judge ruled that the money frozen was to be turned over to the creditor for PK’s debts.

While Dorit and PK sat together on screen trying to explain how PK made money before, they could not have look any more like con artists.  Dorit, dressed in zebra print with a pleather newsboy hat and PK in a statement necklace and fresh haircut, it looked like we had accidentally stumbled on an interview for American Greed.

There was a lot of push back from viewers last season with Andy Cohen turning a blind eye to all the legal trouble and drama the cast was going through, but that’s over now – hopefully!  It is nice to see the least-authentic franchise discuss uncomfortable things.  That’s sort of the point.

It is also interesting to note that we saw the Santa Clarita home Garcelle Beauvais recently purchased – a 3,000 square foot home with a stunning interior AND Denise Richards new beachfront home.  Imagine that, real housewives with real homes purchased with real money?  Who would have thought? Dorinda Medley would.  “Money talks, wealth whispers.”
