RHOBH: Kyle Richards just slapped her name on a label, didn’t she?

Kyle Richards made a huge deal about her new clothing line, but how much was she actually involved in the design process for Kyle & Shahida?

On the premiere episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the main focus was Kyle Richards and her new clothing line, Kyle & Shahida.  Kyle said she was a designer and had created a line to be debuted at New York Fashion Week, but as we learned more about the project, it seemed Kyle was not very involved in anything.

Kyle said that she and Shahida Clayton “merged” their ideas together to create a line.  So when Kyle arrived in New York the day before the show, she was blown away by some of the designs and clothing.  She hadn’t even seen the clothes!  Kyle said she just takes photos of things she likes and sends Shahida a photo, then boom!  Samples show up in the mailbox.  That’s not how this works, Kyle.  That’s not how any of this works.

Tracie, the fashion show producer, asked that Kyle give her some space ahead of the show.  Kyle arrived approximately 90 minutes before curtain and demanded that her daughters be integrated into the model line up.  Poor Tracie was trying to show the models where to walk and how to walk, because there was apparently not even a run-through ahead of time.  I have been to more organized fashion shows in my local mall in front of the FYE (does that statement age me?).

The website has some issues in itself, but you can shop each of the ladies’ looks if you so choose.  Denise Richards’s black robe look is available, but if you are at all out of the normal size range – be prepared to pay!  The robe itself is $349, and a size 12 will run you an extra $34.90 on top of that for a total of $383.90.

Size 18 will run you an extra $87.25 on top of that for a total of $436.25.  It is normal to upcharge for plus-size clothing sometimes as it requires more material, but um, a $436 black robe?  See you at Macy’s, guys. Kyle’s snake print top is also available with the matching snake print pants, too!  Only $369 for the set.

The rest of the website is rife with errors in both syntax and spacing, but many of the links don’t work.  It appears a lot of the clothing is made-to-order, i.e. they aren’t even keeping stock ready because it probably isn’t selling.  This reeks of a poorly crafted storyline and I feel for Shahida agreeing to be a part of this.

So if you are in the market for a $400 robe or some snake print, Kyle has your back!  If you are in the market for anything else…you won’t find it at Kyle & Shahida.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back Wednesday at 8 PM on Bravo!
