RHOBH: Why was Sutton Stracke demoted to “friend of?”

The RHOBH cast photo and trailer were released this week but Sutton Stracke was not included in the photo and was seemingly demoted to “friend of.”

It seemed like Sutton Stracke’s lack of full-time role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills came as a surprise to her just like it did us.  When the trailer came out for season ten on Wednesday, Sutton was included in much of the drama.  But when the cast photos came out, it seemed like she wasn’t aware she had been demoted.

On Lisa Rinna’s Instagram post, with the cast photo, Sutton commented “Suggested caption: what did these girls do with SUTTON? 😹😹😹.”  Sutton actually posted a photo of herself in the neon theme with the same teal watercolor background on her own Instagram, but she was certainly not included in the official photos.  So, what’s up?  Why the demotion, Sutton?

In the trailer, she was seen calling out Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave for being boring.   “Teddi, you are a little boring,” she told Teddi to her face.

On her bio on the E! site, Sutton is listed as “Lisa [Rinna’s] friend and socialite, is newly-divorced and opening a high-end boutique in town.”  She also has a full bio on the Bravo RHOBH site, listing her ex-husband, Christian, and their three children, Porter (age 17), and Philip (age 15) and James (age 12).

The rest of the bio on the E! site alludes to Sutton not meshing with the other ladies.  “Though the ladies appreciate Sutton’s unique style, her outspoken and quirky personality might be more than they can handle.”  Sometimes when a cast member has too much personality, it can backfire and alienate them before they are even accepted.

Though it seems Garcelle Beauvais had no issue mixing in with the other cast members, as she was brought on as a full-time cast member and remains so.  I guess we will have to wait and watch to find out…
