When we think of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, a lot comes to mind. But we are especially excited about the newbies for Season 5. In particular, Bronwyn Newport has been a bit of a breath of fresh air. Considering everything that’s gone down since this series premiered, she brings so much to the table, including plenty of fashion and sass.
But she was not the only new addition to the series in Season 5. Another new addition to the RHOSLC cast was Britani Bateman.
While you would think that these two being new might mean that they would come together and decide to explore a friendship and potentially be a duo when faced with the other women, that’s not what happened. And Bronwyn herself has admitted that “Britani and I have struggled.”
According to The Daily Dish, Bronwyn Newport talked about her relationship with Britani Bateman during an appearance on Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo with Kate Chastain. While appearing on the series, Newport was asked about her relationship with Bateman, as well as some of what went down during the filming of Season 5.
While talking about what went down in Salt Lake City, Bronwyn shared, "We don’t see eye to eye on anything." She also made it clear that both women decided to let each other do their own thing. "I let her fend for herself, she let me fend for myself."
Honestly, we can see that. These women seem to look for things to disagree about with each other. And they clearly aren't really trying to be friends. But at the same time, Bronwyn made it clear that she does "feel for" Britani and what she had to deal with as a new addition to the franchise.
As Bronwyn explained, "Britani and I came on together. I do feel for her; it is a tough group to initiate yourself into and become friends with, and it’s hard." But at the end of the day, it seems like Bronwyn has the personality and attitude to handle this group of women and find a way to build relationships with them. On the other hand, it doesn't seem like Britani has that same personality, which is okay, it just means that she comes at things differently within this group.
It doesn't sound like Britani and Bronwyn are really trying to be friends with each other. And that's perfectly fine, as not everyone is going to have personalities that go together. But it would have been interesting if these two had found a way to better connect with each other.
That being said, we really hope that Season 6 means more Bronwyn on RHOSLC. Especially with all of her fashion and drama.
