Everyone has been saying Timothee Chalamet's name wrong

Dune and Wonka star Timothee Chalamet just revealed that everyone has been saying his name wrong -- but he's totally fine with it.
To promote the upcoming Dune: Part Two with his co-stars Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Austin Butler, Timothee Chalamet appeared on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live and revealed that everyone has been pronouncing his name wrong, but says that he's not going to correct people who pronounce it incorrectly and even offered up some alternative names to use for him if his name is too tough.
Whether you know him as Kylie Jenner's boyfriend or as the latest actor to take on the quirky character of Willy Wonka, odds are that you've been pronouncing his first name, Timothee, as Timothy. Unfortunately, the actor revealed that his parents "cursed" him with this name that isn't exactly how it looks.
Timothee Chalamet won't correct people who don't say his name like this
"Honestly, it's Tim-o-tay," he explained on the late night talk show. But, if you're too stuck in your ways to stop calling him Timothee, Chalamet followed up by saying, "But I would not oblige you to say it like that."
"I could be Timothy or Timmy or Doug or Alan," he added, jokingly giving people some options for what they can call him.
Timothee Chalamet isn't the only celebrity to have people pronouncing their name wrong
Although most people say Ariana Grande's last name like they're ordering a medium drink at Starbucks, she revealed that it's actually pronounced "gran-dee." Taylor Swift's NFL beau has also had people totally shook over learning that his last name is just pronounced "kels," silent "e" on the end.
Even The Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy said that when it comes to correcting people who say "awn-ya" instead of correctly calling her "anne-ya" is just something she "can't do."
