Here's why Justin Bieber didn't perform at the Super Bowl
By Devin Piel
Many fans anticipated seeing Justin Bieber perform at the 2024 Super Bowl alongside Usher, and were disappointed when the pop star didn't make an appearance on the stage.
Instead, Usher brought out guest stars Alicia Keys and H.E.R. along with Lil Jon, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, Will.i.am, a full-on marching band and an army of dancers and Sin City showgirls.
While Usher performed, Justin and his wife Hailey watched the performance from Fanatics co-owner Michael Rubin’s $2.5 million suite at Allegiant Stadium.
Why didn't Justin Bieber perform with Usher?
According to Page Six, Justin just "wasn't feeling it" when it came to performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“There’s no bad blood between Usher and Justin. Justin just wasn’t up for it — he just wasn’t feeling it," the source revealed to the outlet. Apparently, Usher tried his best to get Justin to join him, but Justin couldn't be persuaded.
Usher helped the young star find worldwide fame at just 13 after he was discovered by music mogul Scooter Braun, and the pair came together on Somebody to Love in 2010.
Although there's no beef between Usher and Justin, fans were still disappointed that their favorite former teenage heartthrob wasn't present on the stage.
Justin's performances have been few and far between since he was diagnosed with Ramsey Hunt syndrome, which can cause painful rashes and even paralysis of the face, but that doesn't mean that the fans weren't disappointed when he didn't show up to perform.
Fans react to Justin Bieber's Super Bowl absence
While many still enjoyed the Super Bowl Halftime Show, some were disappointed that Justin didn't make his appearance on the field. Many took to social media to express their feelings, including some comedic jokes about him not performing.
Others spotted him "vibing" at the game, but not performing.
Still, another user used footage of Travis Kelce yelling to jokingly ask, "Where is Justin Bieber?"
Another user claimed, "Justin Bieber and Usher recreating this at the Superbowl could solve world hunger, end global warming, clean the oceans, build villages."
We're not so sure that their performance would have ended world hunger, but nevertheless, it would have been nice to see Justin and Usher reunite on the big stage. For now, fans will have to deal with the fact that Justin simply didn't feel like performing, and so, he didn't.
