Season 16 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres on March 9. And maybe it is us, but we have had a lot of questions about this new season and cast.
After season 15 ended, the series was put on a temporary hiatus as the network worked to reboot the series. This meant a refresh of the cast, especially after Kandi Burruss decided to step away from the show.
For a while, it had been confirmed that we would see Kenya Moore returning as a full-time housewife with peach in hand. However, then a bit of a scandal broke out between her and a fellow housewife (and it wasn’t a good thing at all). This scandal led to news that Kenya would not be as big of a part of the series as we expected. Of course, the real indication that things were amiss came when there were no cast photos featuring the housewife with her peach and the news that Phaedra Parks was returning.
While Bravo never really gave us an indication of what was going on with Kenya, it seems that Andy Cohen is finally giving us confirmation of what we can expect to see as we head into season 16 of RHOA. So what did he have to say?
According to Reality Tea, it seems that Kenya Moore is in a “supporting role” during season 16. He also said that Cynthia Bailey was a supporting cast member as well. So does this mean that technically she’s not a housewife but rather a friend of the housewife?
Kenya Moore to be a supporting member of the RHOA cast in Season 16
Sadly, Andy did not give that title out when discussing her role this season. But he did let us know that we would see her in the first six episodes of the season. This is actually more screen time than we were expecting, based on the scandal, drama, and lack of presence in a lot of the photographs coming out from the season.
It will definitely be interesting to see how Kenya Moore plays a role in season 16 of RHOA. Will what happened with her and one of the housewives have lasting repercussions this season? What does this mean for the return of Phaedra Parks? Honestly, we can’t wait to find out. And luckily, we won’t have to wait much longer.
Season 16 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights on bravo, starting March 9. And you can watch the next day on Peacock.
