‘I stay exposing myself’: Monica Garcia posts own mugshot

RHOSLC‘s Monica Garcia is not letting rumors about her get away from her. Although gossip surrounding the Real Housewives franchise can sometimes run wild, this season 4 newbie is taking things into her own hands by “exposing [herself]” before anyone else can do it.

Monica Garcia was initially introduced to the RHOSLC cast as an employee of Jen Shah, so for many viewers, it’s no surprise that she’s tangled up in some major drama.

But what was a surprise was the fact that Monica came online on December 7, amidst swirling rumors about her alleged affair with her brother-in-law, Jared Taylor, decided to post her own mugshot with a long caption explaining her decision.

Monica Garcia promises to ‘own it all’

In the Instagram post, Monica Garcia shared two glammed up pictures of herself in a shiny green dress that she reveals will be her RHOSLC reunion look and at the end of the carousel, shared a mugshot of herself from a previous arrest that she claims was related to a traffic violation.

Even though Monica only became a cast member during the most recent season, she joined the cast as a main cast member and has definitely shown that she knows what it takes to hold her own on the show. With friends in the cast like Mary Cosby, it’s no surprise that Monica is willing to make some major moves to keep control of the narrative about her.

In the caption of her Instagram post, Monica Garcia explained her choice to post her own mugshot by saying:

"Your past does not define you and YOU control your story. I have no problem taking accountability for my [expletive], but what I will not do is take “accountability” for things that I did not do. There is a difference. HUGE. Not a person out there that can take my past and try to break me with it. I’ll own it all. I hope this shows you all that there is NO TABLE you do not belong at and NO FUTURE that you do not deserve. PERIOD. You belong and forget the ones that try to make you feel otherwise."

Why was Monica Garcia arrested?

Even though this RHOSLC star had no problem posting her mugshot, she didn’t share all the details of what happened.

But, she did share one bit of context as to why she was in big trouble with the law, ending her caption on the mugshot post by saying, “[A]lso, I was arrested for a $100 traffic violation that resulted in a warrant for my arrest. Have at it,” and ending the post with heart emojis.

Although most fans in her comment section are applauding the fact that she’s decided to “expose” herself by posting her own mugshot before it could be unearthed by someone else, there are still some people around the web that are questioning her motives.

Whether Monica Garcia really just posted this to stay ahead of the gossip or if she’s trying to use the attention to draw eyes away from her affair is hard to say. Either way, there’s no denying that Monica knows how to keep people talking about her.
