When  Elon Musk took over Twitter in October 2022,  the serial entrepreneur announced his intention to reinstate many accounts previously suspended. Among them were the profiles of former US president Donald Trump, COVID doubters, and rapper Kanye West.

If Donald Trump snubbed Musk’s offer, Kanye West didn’t waste time making his comeback on the microblogging website. However, the rapper’s return wouldn’t last. Ye soon started one of his notorious rants, including Jewish people, Nazis, and Hitler.

Even staunch free speech supporter Musk couldn’t let the rapper’s latest meltdown slide. Thus, Ye’s account was suspended on Thursday evening.

Ye and scandal seem to go hand-in-hand these days. While the musician is known for his outspoken nature, he regularly crosses the line.

West recently appeared on Infowars, a far-right live show presented by Alex Jones. Sharing the screen with nationalist Nick Fuentes, the music producer gave a messy interview.

Kanye West sparks outrage

In response to a mention of Hitler, Kanye defended the German dictator. According to him, the “Jewish media”  has convinced the world that the Nazis and Hitler had never done anything positive. The rapper then added:

"“I see good things about Hitler, also.”"

Naturally, Kanye’s words didn’t go down well. People took to social media to share their outrage about the musician’s antisemitic discourse. Moreover, YouTube took down the original video of the interview.

Yet, far from discouraging Ye, the adverse reactions seem to bolster him. The rapper subsequently brought his controversial views on Twitter. He finished his tirade by posting an image featuring the nazi swastika in the middle of a Star of David.

Twitter immediately blocked this post as it violated the guidelines. For Elon Musk, this image was the last straw. The tech mogul privately messaged Kanye West to express his disapproval, but the rapper didn’t back down.

In fact, he replied by posting an unflattering picture of a shirtless Musk on a yacht. On Thursday night, Musk tweeted:

Having his account suspended is nothing new for Kanye. Apart from Twitter, the rapper was previously banned on Instagram for violating the site’s regulations.

Whether this Twitter ban is temporary or permanent is unclear. In the meantime, Kanye is taking advantage of Donald Trump’s social platform.

Kanye and Kim are officially divorced

In other news, West finally settled his divorce from his ex-wife Kim Kardashian early this week. After a two-year battle, the couple reportedly reached an agreement over child custody and their properties. While Kim will provide primary care for the four children, Ye and her will share joint custody.

The agreement probably comes as a relief for Kim Kardashian. When petitioning for divorce, the reality TV star initially faced Kanye’s refusal to collaborate in the proceedings.
