Is it time to start reevaluating the Beverly Hills cast?

Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is a return to what made the early seasons of Beverly Hills such a compelling show. It is this sunny, aspirational show with the darkest interpersonal storylines in the entire Bravo universe. But is it time to reevaluate the cast as some of them are not delivering?

This season, we are compelled by the ongoing divorce/legal drama with Erika Jayne and how she and producers spin the narrative. We are also delighted to have Sutton Stracke upgraded to a full-time Diamond holder and the awkward quarrels Stracke is having with newbie Crystal Kung Minkoff.

We even have been delighted with Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards, renewed with the addition of her sister Kathy Hilton and the endless quirkiness  the audience delights at. We are compelled to watch sophomore Housewife Garcelle Beauvais attempt to date again with a dating coach and buying a Rolls Royce.

But with all these exciting stories going on, there seem to be a few housewives feeling like dead weight on the franchise this season. As much as the audience, and myself, love Dorit Kempsey and Lisa Rinna, they feel more like filler housewives this season, not delivering enough compelling storylines on the show.

Even Erika Jayne, manipulating her narrative into her divorce drama, feels like she is not real enough to be on The REAL Housewives. Cementing her status on the show is the curiosity in Tom Girardi’s demise with how much she knew about his nefarious law practice and the ABC News/HULU documentary, The Housewife and the Hustler.

But given how the past few seasons have been underwhelming, maybe it is time to shake up the cast more and drop the housewives that have outgrew their housewives shelf life and are not delivering anything except infomercials for their products.

Fans are quick to point out that past housewife Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave was why Beverly Hills had a stale feel. But after Bravo fired her, the problem persisted, meaning that more housewives might need a demotion to friend of or leave RHOBH. But with each stale housewife shown this season, we have Kathy, Sutton, Crystal, and Garcelle to breathe fresh air into this franchise.
