The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Where does the show go from here?
By Amanda Cline
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has a knack for hiding personal issues from the cameras, but is that even a viable option for season 11?
Now that Erika Girardi and Tom Girardi are involved in a high-profile lawsuit that could possibly take footage from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to help bring them down, where exactly does the show go from here? Thus far, Erika seems unbothered by the situation. Posting photos in her underwear, shows us her interview look for next season, and otherwise acting like everything is normal, but how does the show deal with this?
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is notorious for having off-screen agreements not to discuss things that would make the wives look bad. Kyle Richards did this with Dorit Kemsley when she was dealing with legal problems, and the only one to call her out was Camille Grammer. Of course, that was a little easier to keep off-camera.
How exactly will Bravo, the other housewives, and Erika herself tackle this situation, both on and off the show? Will Andy Cohen address it at any point? Will we get a classic note at the start of the season explaining that things went down that they can’t get into?
Erika has always been mum about her personal life, and now that seems suspicious. She was willing to brag about how expensive her clothing, hair, makeup, and glam squad were, but she wouldn’t discuss anything about her feelings or marriage. For some viewers, that’s why they enjoyed her. She spent her time causing drama with the other ladies. But for the rest of us, it made her inauthentic and cold. Even Kyle shared some of her life.
The way the ladies treated Denise Richards last season for not sharing her sex life was appalling, and to find out Erika was involved in such sinister things the whole time? Now that is dark.
It will be an interesting season after all, but not for the reasons we thought. Will there be a pact to keep this information off the air, or will the Mean Girls of Beverly Hills throw Erika to the wolves? Can’t wait to find out.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back next year on Bravo.
