RHOP: Michael Darby is seriously disturbing to watch

Michael Darby might not be a housewife on The Real Housewives of Potomac, but he is certainly the most disturbing person on the cast.

The Real Housewives of Potomac spent most of the season arguing about Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels, with a bit of creepiness by Michael Darby thrown in there.  Even though Michael is only married to Ashley Darby and isn’t an official cast member, he sure stole the show this season with his creepy antics.

The problem here isn’t entirely Michael.  Ashley is a guilty party for standing by his behavior for so long and allowing him to creep on people, mostly the husbands of cast members.  It is clear that Michael and Ashley are not ready to share a certain part of their lives, which is fine, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us need to be privy to his creeping.

The situation with Ashley’s father most certainly has an impact on Ashley’s decision to stay with Michael even after all he has put her through.  Michael has publicly embarrassed her multiple times, on and off the show.  Ashley is the one who has to answer for his indiscretions each time.

On The Real Housewives of Potomac, the ladies hold Ashley responsible and require an explanation for why Michael is grabbing butts, taking exotic dancers home, and cheating on her.  They even went on a local Potomac news station after last year’s butt grab debacle to defend his actions.  Ashley stood by him through it all!

Why does Bravo enable this behavior?  It isn’t even entertaining to watch someone be a predator.  We’re just waiting for the next person to get assaulted by Michael while he offers a Grinch-like smile and sips his corona.  He is always waiting in the wings to hit on one of the husbands or offer an inappropriate comment about them.  It has been made clear by the rest of the husbands that they are uncomfortable around him.

Michael told Chris Bassett he needed to control his wife and it went down further from there.  Security and Eddie Osefo had to keep the two apart.  For once I agree with Candiace that Michael is not worth the trouble.  “Monique has no self-control but what do you have?”  Michel then offered to file a lawsuit against Candiace and Chris.  The fact that Michael is acting like this while being filmed for a television show is disturbing, separate from everything else.  Imagine what Ashley deals with alone?

Last night, Michael flipped out on production at the finale party and once again, embarrassed Ashley.  It would be truly shocking if Bravo allowed them back to film again.  He’s clearly a liability and a threat to production.

And after all was said and done, Ashley’s response was to go on vacation and create another baby with the predator that is her husband.  If nothing else, we hope she has this footage locked in a safe deposit box somewhere so when she goes to divorce him she has proof of his behavior.  But for now, she rewards his outburst with vacations and babies.  Disturbing stuff from Michael Darby, once again.
