The Real Housewives of Orange County has a lot of marriage issues right now.  Perhaps the show needs to go to counseling, too.

Ahead of the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, we got a surprise!  Braunwyn Windham-Burke came out and said she was coming out!   This, once again, wasn’t a great episode for Braunwyn and her storyline.  Sean Burke seems to offer his support at every corner, but it must be hard for him to go through all of this as Braunwyn’s husband while she comes out as gay.

Braunwyn & Sean

Braunwyn opened up again in therapy about having a miscarriage and kind of spiraling into a depression after that.  Even if you don’t like her, her story still resonates with a lot of people.  “He’s been managing me,” she said about Sean and their marriage.  Then she mentioned that she resented him enabling her, but was thankful she had his support.

During a conversation with Rowan and Sean, Braunwyn sort of freaked out at everyone in the room.  She was tooting her own horn that she was sober and could help deal with Rowan’s anxiety because she wasn’t drunk, but it just came off as a conversation that Rowan didn’t need to be a part of.  “No one is letting me talk!” Braunwyn screamed at her family so she could talk about her sobriety.  “I’m going to be bored,” she said of the lockdown.  Yes, Braunwyn, we all are going to be bored.

While a lot of viewers do feel for Braunwyn and her story, a lot also feel that she has it really good.  She has a healthy family, a ton of money, a husband that loves her, and all of the creature comforts one could ask for, but she’s still very unhappy.  That’s the double-edged sword about being open and honest on television, there’s always another side to it.

Elizabeth & Her husband & Jimmy

Elizabeth Lyn Vargas was the other topic of conversation and the ladies let her know how annoying it was that she never stopped talking about money.  She took it pretty well, to be honest.  Elizabeth thanked Brauwyn and Kelly Dodd for letting her know how annoying she was being, and she seemed to truly appreciate the fact that someone told her.

It does seem that Elizabeth is struggling with coming to terms with her divorce, which is understandable given the circumstances surrounding it.  Her ex-husband apparently did not want to have children with her but started a family outside of their marriage.  Now she’s in a relationship (kind of) with Jimmy, but she mentioned he wants to leave her and she begs him to stay.

The show is definitely a platform for the ladies to get their feelings out in the open, but it sure is messy.  It will probably be fine for Elizabeth moving forward with her divorce, but Braunwyn and Sean are to be determined still.  Sean deserves happiness too, wherever he may find that.

The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Bravo every Wednesday at 9 PM.
