RHOC’s Braunwyn Windham-Burke announced today in a video interview with GLAAD that she likes women and is proud of herself for being able to say that.

The Real Housewives of Orange County just got the first official lesbian castmate as Braunwyn Windham-Burke announced that she was a lesbian.  On her Instagram, Braunwyn announced through an article with GLAAD that she was coming out and living her truth after 43 years.  Braunwyn has been going through a lot with her sobriety lately, both on and off the show.  You can watch the full video interview with GLAAD’s Anthony Ramos.

"It feels so good to finally be living my truth. I am a lesbian. At 43 years old, I’ve finally been able to accept this part of myself and I’ve realized there are no rules about when someone should come out. This is my time."

Braunwyn did an interview not that long ago where she admitted that her husband, Sean Burke, was no longer living in the home with her.  She did say that someone else was in her life, but it was not a guy.  It has been suspected that she was having a relationship with her close friend, but we’re sure she will let us know that when the time is right.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star said in the interview “I like women. I am gay, I’m proud to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community.”  She went on to say that she was happy and proud of who she was, and was excited to share the news with everyone.  Braunwyn said about Sean, “As long as my husband was okay and the person I was dating was okay and knows everything. I didn’t wanna have to hide this anymore.”  So Sean is cool with it and seems to be supportive of his wife.  Go Sean!

It takes a lot of courage to speak up about such things while filming for a reality show, in addition to doing it while on a journey of sobriety.  We salute you, Braunwyn, and support whatever and whoever you love!

The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Bravo every Wednesday at 9 PM.
