Lisa Vanderpump might not be on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills anymore, but fans still flocked to her restaurants to catch a glance at stars.

One thing is for sure: there is no roadmap to deal with 2020.  Stores close, restaurants stay open for takeout, stores open with restricted hours, restaurants are forced to close, Walmart is still out of toilet paper and paper towels.  In California, there has been a slow reopening for restaurants that had outdoor seating available, but now that is over.  They suspended indoor dining again as of Wednesday night due to the surge in coronavirus cases.  While Lisa Vanderpump has always featured her restaurants on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, can any establishment survive in a time like this?

Just as California restaurant owners were trying to get back on their feet, the rug has been pulled out from under them again.  Lisa has a slight upper hand in the situation since her restaurants have a cult following from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules, where fans flock to her floral-clad eateries hoping for a peep at stars like Jax Taylor and herself.

Lisa Vanderpump posted on Twitter that after much “consideration for the well being of staff & guests we endeavored to open.”  Sur, the “Sexy Unique Restaurant”  only opened on Sep. 23, after being closed since March.  Villa Blanca wasn’t able to weather the storm and never re-opened after closing.

Now that restaurants are being forced to close again, it seems Lisa’s situation with shuttering Villa Blanca will be the new normal.  Is there any way for a restaurant to survive on takeout alone?  Most owners say no, even with a skeleton staff.  For Lisa, it seems they are going to stay open to try and make the best of the situation – for now.

The department of health is only trying to protect people with these new restrictions and there’s no right way to do it, but it highlights how bleak things look around the world right now.  If a star like Lisa can’t keep her businesses afloat with a famous dish like goat cheese balls, can anyone stick it out?
