Southern Charm is dealing with the looming pandemic during this season, and it is almost too stressful to watch again so soon.

This episode of Southern Charm is from Mar. 17, 2020, aka the very start of the pandemic when no one knew what was going on.  That didn’t stop Patricia Altschul from throwing a dinner party complete with fresh lemons, though!  Kathryn Dennis seemed to be reeling from the information that Thomas Ravenel was having another baby, puffing on her juul as she spoke to the camera.

Kathryn is always so up and down.  When she’s away from Thomas she tends to thrive and work on herself, but as soon as he’s back in the picture she falls back into her old ways.  Kathryn sometimes does work with Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant, helping out with their social media presence and things of that nature.  During one of the scenes, Kathryn suggested they go do a buying trip for merchandise as if there wasn’t a global pandemic looming.  Kathryn seemed to think it was funny and said she needed to Google the virus.

With two small children at home, we hoped Kathryn would have been a bit more in tune with the virus, but I suppose we were all a bit lost at first.  So far, watching the cast of Southern Charm deal with a pandemic that we are still dealing with isn’t a lot of fun to watch.  All of the characters on the show seem to be dealing with the situation differently, especially Leva Bonaparte with all of her restaurants.  “If the businesses were to go down, it’s seven years of everything we’ve built.  We would probably never recover from it,” Leva said.

The cast spent a lot of time facetiming one another to see where they were and how they were dealing with the lockdown.  Seeing as this is only the middle of March, there is a long road ahead of them.
