Andy Cohen is hosting a new show on the E! channel, but is something more brewing between the entertainment network and Bravo?

Reality TV inception!  This week, Deadline revealed that Bravo icon, Andy Cohen, was going to be hosting (and producing!) a new show on the E! network called For Real: The Story of Reality TV.  The show will rehash some of the most iconic moments in reality television from shows such as The Bachelor, The Real World, various Real Housewives franchises, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and Survivor.

But before we get too excited about the show, is something more interesting going on behind the scenes with the Bravo and E! network?  As of late, there has been a lot of cross-network promotion for shows and specials.  The Real Housewives of Potomac started an hour early this week because of The People’s Choice Awards on the E! network.  Now Andy Cohen, one of the most public-facing higher-ups at Bravo is hosting a limited series on E!

With Keeping Up With the Kardashians coming to an end, is it possible that the networks might be doing something bigger?  Could one be buying the other out?  Or perhaps they are just trying to prop each other up in this trying and strange time we are currently in.  Please don’t say Bravo will start doing red carpet coverage!

Thus far, it seems like this limited-run series will mostly show iconic clips and pieces from reality shows past.  There might be some new tea spilled during the episodes, but nothing too scandalous.  It certainly is interesting to see Andy, the King of Bravo, venturing to a new channel.  Of course, they are all owned by NBC Universal.

The show will be executively produced by Andy, Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi, David Sambuchi, and Lauren Lazin.  “This series is like great candy,” he promised.  We’re ready, Andy!

Andy Cohen and For Real: The Story of Reality TV will be on the E! network soon!
