Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Erika Jayne & Tom Girardi are divorcing

RHOBH’s Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi married in 1999 after meeting in a restaurant in West Hollywood but will divorce after 21 years together.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills curse has struck again!  Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi are divorcing after 21 years together.  According to E! in an exclusive interview, Erika is apparently filing for divorce from Tom, not the other way around.  “This is not a step taken lightly or easily. I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the lives we built together,” Erika told E!  

Erika has always been know for her stage personality, Erika Jayne, even though her legal name is Erika Girardi.  Erika also has been adamant that she plays a character on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, though it is unclear what sort of character she’s going to play now that she is going to be plain ol’ Erika again.

Just last week, Erika got into an altercation on Instagram with someone who claimed to be one of her biggest fans.  Instead of the interaction being positive, Erika came at the fan in a vicious manner over the credit for a meme.  Erika is notorious for not sharing any of her life, but the show is definitely filming right now and will probably catch some of the drama surrounding this announcement.  She did tell Andy Cohen a few years ago that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, but with Tom being a high-powered lawyer, it probably doesn’t matter anyway.

There were rumors of a divorce on the cast but people did not pin Erika and Tom as the ones who would be divorcing.  Erika does spend a lot of her time away from home doing various projects and tours and shows, but it has been rumored that her son is living with them recently.

Tom and Erika were married for 21 years but their age difference was always subject to scrutiny.  While Erika is now 49 and Tom is 81, perhaps some of those issues due to the age difference were more prominent.  Perhaps we will never know…Cue the dramatic music.
