Real Housewives of Potomac: Robyn Dixon’s tax issues are worrying
By Amanda Cline
Robyn Dixon and her money woes are again part of her storyline this season on The Real Housewives of Potomac, but what does Karen Huger think?
Robyn Dixon has been a cast member on The Real Housewives of Potomac for all five seasons now. We’ve seen her highs, her lows, and her middles. Right now, I think we’re in between high and middle. Part of Robyn’s story was that she entrusted a friend with a significant amount of money which was then lost. The friend reportedly took his own life after the scam.
But now, part of Robyn’s storyline is that she was suddenly hit with a tax lien for $90,000 just as she was about to buy a new house. Robyn’s excuses, for someone who has been in such a financial pickle, were really eye-opening. She said it was “unreported income” she forgot about since she was filing her own taxes. Robyn also said she was a bad accountant. I mean, clearly!
The IRS claims that Robyn owes money due to unpaid taxes from 2015 to 2017. Bossip was one of the first sites to report this information back in Oct. 2019, noting “the IRS says Dixon owes $4,057 from 2015, $34,030 from 2016 and $48,377 from 2017.” Robyn also filed for bankruptcy back in 2013.
Back when Karen Huger was having her own tax issues, Gizelle Bryant had the audacity to make a shirt for Karen’s “press conference.” The shirt said #FreeUncleBen, #FreeKaren, and #TaxReform on it. Is Gizelle whipping up her shirt for Robyn as we speak? Robyn also gave Karen a hard time for the tax issues, asking how it was possible she owed so much money to the IRS?
Of course, tax issues happen! But given where Robyn and Juan Dixon have come from, you would think they would be a bit more diligent about their finances. If Robyn is a bad accountant, hire someone, girl! The IRS does not care if you are a real housewife and “forgot” to report some of your income.
Wendy Osefo & The Real Housewives of Potomac will be back next Sunday at 9 PM.
