Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: But they are being mean girls, right?

Are The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills really insinuating that they are on the wrong side of the mean girl argument opposing Denise Richards?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have made it clear they do not believe Denise Richards over Brandi Glanville.  With that aside, they seem puzzled that anyone would think they were being mean girls.  When Denise suggested that she perhaps slept with someone else in the group, Lisa Rinna was quick to say, “Don’t say that. Don’t even put that out there!”

The group chimes in

It seems hard to comprehend that a group of six adults cannot sit back and realize that perhaps their behavior is damaging to someone.  Sutton Strake said the whole thing was out of left field during her appearance on the Beverly Hills After Show.  Dorit Kemsley said she felt that she had been defending Denise, and she didn’t think the mean girl title was appropriate.

Erika Jayne thought they were simply being opinionated. She also mentioned that they were there to share their sides of the stories, but they were not mean girls.  Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave seemed to think that the only reason Denise would think they were mean girls was because fans of the show said it last year.  Teddi is just as astonishingly dim as she is boring.

But back to Lisa Rinna

Of course, the mere suggestion that someone else might have slept with Brandi was completely out of line for Rinna, but the rest of them are allowed to drag Denise through the mud on the same topic.  “You have chosen to sit here,” she yelled.  Rinna said Denise needed to own it, and if she couldn’t own it, she needed to go.  Mind you, she’s shouting this across the table.

Rinna said, “This group of women was horribly bullied last year because we were called the mean girls of Beverly Hills.”  So knowing how that made her and the rest of the girls feel, did she think harassing Denise publically about an alleged affair was going to make things better?

By the next day, Rinna was crying and blubbering about how she was a bad friend to Denise.  She even went to the Vatican to sort herself out.  Teddi was incredibly offended at the mean girl’s insinuation.  So it is totally okay for Teddi to speak about what Denise does in the bedroom on television, but she’s so broken-hearted that Denise would call her a mean girl?

With all of the hurt feelings, it was surprising that no one stood up and apologized for their behavior.  At that moment, it probably would have made Denise feel like she wasn’t totally alone (besides Garcelle Beauvais, obviously) and perhaps could have changed the course of things.

The entire season has revolved around them antagonizing Denise, and frankly, viewers just don’t find that very interesting.  Someone needs to save RHOBH, and I don’t think Denise can do it by herself.

Face it, girls.  You are mean.  You are girls.  You are mean girls.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is on Bravo on Wednesdays at 9 PM ET.
