Real Housewives of New York: Did someone put a spell on Sonja Morgan?

The Real Housewives of New York continued last night after a brief hiatus and everyone attended the Halloween party from hell.

The Real Housewives of New York took two weeks off and everything changed!  This might be the first group to have confessionals filmed virtually, in addition to having a new set of taglines halfway through the season!  The ladies filmed their confessionals from the comfort of their own homes and a slimmed-down camera and lighting setup.  Though we aren’t totally clear on it, they probably had some local help, too.  They also had a fresh set of taglines for the second half of the season!

Ramona Singer wasted no time getting back into the swing of her usual antics last night when it came to her birthday party.  She let us know, again, that she had 80 of her closest friends at a party that she wasn’t willing to share with anyone – even Sonja Morgan.  To be fair, Sonja has been kind of a mess in every episode this season.

It seems that the other women, including ever-present Elyse Slaine, are tired of Ramona and her attitude.  Dorinda Medley had her daughter, Hannah Lynch, join her for her scenes this episode.  They went to a diner and had a burger with a lot of sauce.  Hannah was actually very sweet and said she was proud of her mom for how far she as come.  Though Dorinda has been pretty angry throughout, perhaps now that Tinsley Mortimer is gone, Dorinda will chill out?

Leah McSweeney brought her ex, Rob, to the Halloween party with her which did not end well.  If we had to guess, Rob was probably on the “Leah shouldn’t drink” train along with her family.  When Leah went in to grab a full-size lobster off the seafood tower display, he didn’t seem thrilled.  In fact, he said he was probably going to leave.

The party, though well catered and decorated, was a huge mess.  Sonja spent a better part of the Halloween party banging a Ramona voodoo doll in the head.  Sonja and Ramona were dressed like royal frog princesses, complete with tiaras.  Sonja was toasted on vodka sodas from the start, like she might have attended another party before this one.  Dorinda gave a speech about how she wasn’t drunk and that Ramona is a bad friend.  “You’re terrible to Sonja and you’re not nice.”

The cherry on top of a super-weird Halloween night was when Ramona commented on a young man’s gut and how well it fit into his costume.  He let he know it was no costume, the gut was all his.  Never change, Ramona.  Please.
