Real Housewives of Atlanta: Has Nene Leakes been fired..or not?
By Amanda Cline
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is working on the cast for season thirteen, but Nene Leakes been fired or not? She certainly wants us to believe she has not.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is sending out letters for season thirteen and has the internet in a tizzy. We know that Eva Marcille was not asked back, and Nene Leakes posted on Twitter, “You are NOT gonna get away with this! I promise,” but quickly deleted it. LoveBScott, who is always in tune with the RHOA drama, posted yesterday that Nene had not been offered a contract for next season.
But that post was updated yesterday to note that both Bravo and a rep for Nene reached out to say that wasn’t true. “There is no truth to Nene being fired and conversations are ongoing.” It seems like Nene’s threatening tweet saying they weren’t going to “get away” with it might be true.
Nene hired Lisa Bloom a few months back and has been threatening to sue the network semi-regularly, so it would make sense that she pushed back if she was fired.
Nene deleted her threatening tweet and posted a bunch of laughing emojis shortly after. To be honest, I don’t think Nene has many fans left on the franchise. She’s conned her way back in, made up the recording rumors and started snakegate in order to ensure she had screen time, and then basically took no responsibility for it and put the heat on Porsha Williams to stand up for her.
The old Nene is gone and isn’t coming back. If anything, bringing on Yovanna Momplaisir would be a hilarious switcheroo. We haven’t learned the fate of the rest of the cast either, but we have a feeling Cynthia Bailey is next up on the chopping block. So either Nene was fired and used her legal counsel to worm her way back on, or Nene was just regularly fired. No matter the case, I don’t think anyone wants Nene back.
If only Nene would gracefully bow out instead of harassing the network to let her back on, imagine such an ending for such an iconic figure? Bloop.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be back next year.
