Below Deck Mediterranean: Lara isn’t a quitter but she quit
By Amanda Cline
Below Deck Mediterranean was down an interior crew member when Lara decided to abruptly disappear in the middle of the night.
This week’s episode of Below Deck Mediterranean started with the confrontation between Hannah Ferrier, Lara Flumiani, and Captain Sandy Yawn right off the bat. They decided to wipe the slate clean for the next charter and try to get along. That did not work. By the time the next day rolled around and the crew was getting ready for charter, Lara was gone.
Hannah spent the morning looking for her but by 11:00 AM, Lara was still missing in action. Eventually, Lara came waltzing down the dock in some purple sweatpants and a jean jacket to tell Sandy she was quitting. With one hour until the next charter, she really screwed the rest of the team.
Lara was a bad fit all around. She had a bad attitude, she wasn’t a team player, and she left them high and dry for the next charter – but that was somehow a better option than working with her. Lara said, “I’m not a quitter, but I quit,” and off she went forever.
Once the Lara ship sailed, Captain Sandy took up the “sweetie” and “sweetheart” with the boys working under Malia White. Sandy called Pete Hunziker, Alex Radcliffe, and Robert Westergaard up for a discussion to remind them that Malia is not their sweetie, she is their bosun. “Malia is not your friend. You wouldn’t call a guy a sweetheart. I’m not your friend, I’m your captain.”
It seems that this might be a theme throughout the season, even though it was to be expected with all-female leads.
Hopefully, the guys decide to respect Malia and Sandy sooner than later or they might be sent packing. They are already down one crew member…why not be down two?
Below Deck Mediterranean is on Bravo Monday nights at 9 PM ET!
