Vanderpump Rules: Scheana Shay got a bad edit due to a personal vendetta
By Amanda Cline
Scheana Shay has received the “boy crazy” edit for a while now, excluding any other part of her life from her storyline – but now we know why.
On the Twisted Plot Podcast recently, an editor for Vanderpump Rules spilled some tea as the featured guest on episodes one and eight of the show. The host, Evelyn Marley, had Bri Dellinger on for the now-deleted episodes. In episode one, “Editing Vanderpump Rules with Bri Dellinger,” Bri admitted that since Scheana Shay wasn’t close with her, she got a bad edit. She even said that if Scheana knew what was good for her, she would befriend Bri in order to get on her good side, as first reported by Page Six.
Bri said that one of her favorite games was sifting through the footage to find embarrassing moments of Scheana to include in episodes. In one of the recent episodes, Scheana was seated next to Stassi Schroeder’s brother, Nikolai. It seemed they wanted the audience to think Scheana was preying on Nikolai and being creepy due to the way it was edited. Bri admitted she saw the scene and added some sound bytes in to make it more embarrassing for Scheana. “We asked her in the interview, ‘How young would you go?’ and we didn’t tell her it was for the Nikolai scene.”
Scheana has been the punching bag of production for a few seasons now, even when the rest of her co-stars are exceedingly more awful than she is. Bri mentioned that Stassi and Beau Clark have received the “special hero” edit, which is clear based on their ever-positive scenes, despite how incredibly boring the scenes are. Bri confirmed that the couple is in every episode due to the hero edit they are getting.
All of the tweets and links to this episode were quickly removed once the internet caught on, and Bravo and Bri have not responded to comments on the issue. Vanderpump Rules has been terrible the last couple of seasons and seemed to suffer from too much producer-driven intervention to make things more interesting when it had the opposite effect. Now, Bri has all but confirmed that is exactly why she show has been boring.
Bri repeatedly noted how funny she thought it was that Scheana was getting such a bad edit, especially when they made it appear she was creeping on a teenage boy. One other interesting tidbit Bri provided was that they tested an episode without Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright in order to see how the episode did without them…and the episode did just fine.
On Monday, Scheana actually tweeted to Andy Cohen that she had some tea for him just before the episode about Bri started to spread. The tweet has since been deleted. Scheana has even taken to her own YouTube channel lately to share her life because she recognized that the only edit she was getting was “boy crazy.”
Actually, everything related to this podcast and Bri’s comments have been wiped from the internet. if that doesn’t scream “guilty” and give credence to the idea that Bri was actually giving Scheana a horrible edit simply because she isn’t her friend…I’m not sure what does.
Vanderpump Rules is on Bravo every Tuesday at 9 PM.
