RHOBH: Why did Kyle Richards call Denise Richards a ragamuffin?
By Amanda Cline
Kyle Richards attitude has made quite the change in this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but why has she been so mean?
Since the first episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season ten, Kyle Richards has been showing her true colors. She was a monster to her staff for New York Fashion Week to the point where someone had to ask her to stay away from the woman running the show. She shoved her daughters into the show at the last minute, and now she’s turned her sights on her co-stars.
Kyle was all over Dorit Kemsley for being late to Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave’s “All in by Teddi” retreat. She was mad that Dorit had her hair and makeup done and skipped the exercise portion of the retreat. Kyle was also mad Dorit had a whole photo shoot prior to her arrival. After crying through dinner, the ladies went home.
The next scheduled event was a dinner at Denise Richards home complete with pizza and an ice sculpture. The ice was in the shape of diamonds, as was the ice used for drinks. Kyle was absolutely puzzled by this and threw a ton of shade at Denise for her choice of ice. Who cares? Do diamonds really offend you suddenly, Kyle?
But the real kicker was when Denise got up to get some ice cream after dinner. Denise was trying to defend Dorit to say that she looked nice for the retreat and she did not understand why Kyle cared. Denise asked, “Why are you judging her?”
Kyle turned to Sutton Stracke “And this one, who has never worn anything but a mop-top ponytail her whole life is all of the sudden like…really? Ragamuffin.” In her interview, Kyle said her choice of words was not the nicest but she could have said worse. So before the response from viewers, she doubled down on her comment.
On the Instagram post that Denise shared of her cover of Esquire magazine, she hashtagged #ragamuffin in her caption. Of course, Kyle responded in the comments. Kyle said she was beautiful and apologized for her behavior. “I was exhausted , emotional & felt everyone was coming at me. I got upset because I thought you of all people would get what I was saying because you yourself say you don’t get the glam thing and just wear a messy top knot.”
Kyle also tweeted that her mom used to use the term ragamuffin when she was running around looking messy. Clearly Kyle received a lot of backlash for her comments, rightfully so. Wouldn’t she have apologized before the episode aired if she was actually sorry, and not just trying to get back in the good graces of viewers?
There have always been whispers that Kyle isn’t the nicest housewife, but are we finally seeing proof of that? Is it possible Kyle is jealous of Denise? It certainly seems that things continue to deteriorate as the season continues, especially for Denise.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back Wednesday at 8 PM on Bravo!
