RHOC: Kelly Dodd says coronavirus was a way of “thinning the herd”
By Amanda Cline
The Real Housewives of Orange County might not be filming right now, but all eyes are on Kelly Dodd for her behavior once again…and it isn’t a good look.
Kelly Dodd was in Florida in mid-March and headed straight to New York after that. Based on her social media, Kelly was in New York for a full month staying with her fiance, Rick Leventhal, while he covered the news. But on Monday, Kelly began her adventure back to California.
Kelly headed home and questioned why no one was on her plane. Then when she landed, she took an uber and sat in the front seat. While in the uber, she said she was heading straight to the urgent care to get tested once she got home. For the record, she did have a mask on for the entire day.
Kelly hasn’t exactly been making friends lately while RHOC is waiting to start filming again. In the comments of most of her posts, viewers are wondering why she hasn’t been taking the spread of the virus seriously.
When someone asked why she was traveling around, Kelly went on a rant about SARS, H1N1 and other irrelevant viruses. She also commented that it was “God’s way of thinning the herd,” which was obviously not well received. You can see the comment and some of Kelly’s stories on PEOPLE’s website.
Kelly even encouraged people to stay home with her Instagram post that said #StayHomewithBravo to catch up on some shows. Some people asked why she would fly at all during times like these, and Kelly snapped back that if it was unsafe, airlines would not be flying at all. Of course, by the end of the day, Kelly started her apology tour.
She took to her Instagram stories to say she didn’t mean that anyone was actually trying to “thin the herd,” but she wondered why it would happen in the first place. “What I meant was, do these pandemics happen because it’s God’s way?” She went on to say she wasn’t insensitive and felt bad for those who lost family members before apologizing again.
Kelly closed out her speech by telling those who are compromised to stay inside and to wear masks to protect others. She also suggested staying inside if you aren’t feeling well. Such sage advice, Kelly.
Once at the doctor back in California, Kelly got a second test for the virus and it was negative. The doctor said she could safely interact with her daughter at that point due to the negative results. Hopefully, Kelly remains healthy and is able to spend time with her family now that she’s back in the state.
