RHOA: Nene Leakes and her power play at lunch didn’t work

Nene Leakes tried to pull one over on her RHOA castmates in the most recent episode, but her plan did not go as she hoped it would.

Nene Leakes has not had much screen time this season for whatever reason, but she was heavily featured in this week’s RHOA episode.  Nene sent Cynthia Bailey a card just before (read: the night before) her “jungle-themed” brunch which was overall, very strange and not very jungle-y.  It was also in a Mexican restaurant.  Nene said on the Bravo After Show that the brunch was for “entrepreneur women that are like-minded” to support one another.

In an effort to get Cynthia to her brunch clad in zebra print, Nene reconciled with Cynthia.  Upon arriving at the brunch around 2:00 PM, Cynthia ended up leaving almost immediately due to Eva Marcille Sterling going in to labor basically at the table.

Eva, Cynthia, Porsha Williams, Kandi Burruss, and Tanya Sam were prompt to said brunch.  Cynthia and Eva promptly left, which left Kandi and Tanya.  Then Kenya Moore showed up around 3:00 PM.  She left after 7 minutes.  Kenya seemed hip to Nene’s game and headed out upon confirmation….at 3:07 PM.

When Nene arrived at 4:30 PM, she brought a gaggle of strangers with her that were hiding in another part of the restaurant.  Her plan was to show how many women were her friends while she boasted about “sisterhood,” which is basically the opposite of anything Nene has ever done.  She also showed up in no animal print in an effort to assert dominance over her friends in their cute outfits.  Nene is only about sisterhood when the sisterhood is falling all over her.

It seemed that Nene planned to have a bunch of extra women on hand in the case that no one showed up.  By all appearances, no one showed up so Nene brought out the extras.  Kandi mentioned that they were the only two at the party, and Nene replied, “No you aren’t.”  Cue about 20 women from another room.

It really seemed like Nene was trying to pull one over on the cast and it did not work.  The plan fell apart the moment 50% of the cast members left before brunch even began.  But who shows up 2.5 hours late to their own event?  I would have left too.
