Getaway to Kary’s home in Mexico

Andy dove into various events of The Real Housewives of Dallas cast trip to Kary’s fabulous oceanside home in Mexico, including D’Andra’s excessive drinking, why LeeAnne didn’t want to room with Kary, and Kary’s discomfort with the fact that husband Eduardo has all of the money.

But the main discussion centered on Brandi and Kameron’s fight. Soon after arriving, Kameron implied that Brandi and Stephanie only wanted to room with each other. She brought it up again that evening at dinner, and Brandi stated that she thought the actual “clique” was Kameron and LeeAnne. A fight erupted that included pointing fingers, napkins flung into faces, a few F-bombs, and then the ultimate insult: Kamryn calling Brandi “trash.”

Confronted at the reunion with her use of the T-word, Kameron claimed that because Stephanie had used the word “trashy” a few hours earlier that same day, the word had become implanted in her head. She said she wouldn’t have used that word otherwise, but Stephanie reminded her that she used it a few years ago in connection with Brandi.

Kameron, in her usual frustrating fashion, twisted, flip-flopped, and then flat out denied what she’d said, even though it’s on tape. Brandi explained why being called “trash” hurts her so much, and LeeAnne’s response to this was  classic: “We have to grow past our past and not use it.” (Uh-huh, we know. Do you???)

The issue ended when Kameron apologized for her own napkin-throwing behavior, which she deemed trashy as well, and asserted her desire to be friends with Brandi.

A separate argument emerged when Kameron expressed her own issue with Stephanie calling their friendship “surface.” This, to Kameron, equated to calling her a dumb blonde, which is apparently as hurtful to Kameron as the term trashy is to Brandi. She shed a few (crocodile?) tears over how hurtful Stephanie had been to call her elitist and stated that Stephanie had never come to Kameron to tell her how she felt. Stephanie quickly pointed out that she did talk to Kameron about how she felt Kameron did not treat her like a human being or friend or even kindly.

Kameron inexplicably quoted Elsa in Frozen to bolster her case, saying “The fake cannot be trusted.” To which Stephanie pulled out a more well-known Frozen quote: “Let it go.”

LeeAnne Part II

In case you weren’t aware of it after four seasons, LeeAnne had a bad childhood. The memories that she shares are indeed shocking and heartbreaking, but after four seasons, the issue that the women have with her bringing these events up is that she seems to trot them out to shut down conversations or to excuse her bad behavior.

Everyone was also very shocked at LeeAnne’s flippant comment about trying suicide again if she had the chance. This was especially upsetting to D’Andra, whose stepfather committed suicide, something that LeeAnne knew. LeeAnne’s response was that there’s a double standard in the group and that everyone else is allowed to talk about their past traumas.

The Lighter Moments

All the housewives agreed that their favorite event during their girls’ trip to Mexico was the very proper Kameron peeing behind a trailer.  My favorite moment was this: Brandi pulled out a flask, took a swig and then passed it to Stephanie.

Andy, who usually frowns upon side conversations taking place during the main discussion, looked shocked and whispered at them in his newly developed dad-voice, “You’re drinking out of a flask? Are you sailors??” The BFFs just giggled and kept on sipping.  The Real Housewives of Dallas reunion continues next week…and I can’t wait to see how it all pans out.

The Real Housewives of Dallas Reunion Part II will air Wednesday, January 8 at 9 PM.
