Below Deck: Our biggest takeaways from Kate and Captain Lee’s relationship
By Amanda Cline
The Below Deck crew had a wild day off last which, which resulted in pants on the ground and tears all around. But will Kate get off the hook easily?
After last week’s episode of Below Deck where Brian de Saint Pern called Kate Chastain a b***h to her face, things got a little crazy in the galley! Obviously the crew had spent the whole day drinking, which amplified everything. Kate let loose and threw Brian’s pants on the floor while Capitan Lee Rosbach looked on. Not the best idea, but it’s okay.
The next day, Lee called Kate in to say he didn’t appreciate her behavior, but it wasn’t the end of the world. On the Bravo After Show, Lee said that Kate is one of her best friends. After Lee’s son passed away over the summer, Kate dropped everything to drive down to Joshua’s funeral. He went on to say he will always have her back because Kate always does the right thing.
After Lee called Kate in to speak with her about the night before, the crew didn’t even have a moment to dwell on Kate’s pant-tossing before he got an email about someone else that set him off.
Ashton Pienaar apparently did a cannonball in the pool on their day off and managed to damage the nearby DJ equipment. This really made Lee mad, because now they are responsible for replacing the damaged equipment. Also, cannonballs by the pool at a resort? Are we 11, Ashton?
Ashton loves to tell Kate that they need to set an example for the other crew members, but he’s also the first one to act like a fool in front of them. Especially when he said he was tired of working hard to get any action from the girls (except he used much more colorful language).
While Ashton works hard, Kate also works hard. She has proved herself many times over the years, and Captain Lee trusts her. People mess up sometimes and Kate is no different, but overall, she does a great job.
Below Deck is on Bravo every Monday at 9 PM ET.
