The RHOBH ladies are known for throwing a wild party, but not necessarily cooking for the wild parties.  Check out one of our favorite pre-party moments.

As we approach Thanksgiving, I would like to reflect on one of the best vintage RHOBH moments.  During season two, episode eight of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Vanderpump goes across the street to Adrienne Maloof’s home to help teach her a few things in the kitchen.  If you don’t remember, Adrienne had a personal chef, Bernie Guzman, who did all of the cooking for the family (and also really hated Lisa for some reason).

Lisa and Adrienne attempted to prepare and season a chicken for roasting, which Lisa has done before (I assume).  Adrienne was clearly a novice.  Once the chicken was out of the package, Adrienne inquired if the poor bird had a name before Lisa tells her to give it a quick rinse.  Adrienne took the chicken to the sink and gave a quick pump of her dish soap in order to cleanse the nameless bird.  Lisa asks, “Did you…just put soap on it?  On the chicken?”  And Adrienne responds that she did and continues to rinse it inside and out.

Adrienne claims that without a quick wash, the risk of salmonella was much higher.  “How else do you get the chicken clean?”  Lisa goes on to instruct Adrienne how to season the bird and add some lemons to it prior to cooking it, but I think all host was lost at that point.  The best part is that they just keep on keepin’ on with the poor sanitized chicken.  Thus far I have never used dish soap to wash a chicken, but perhaps I should start.

These vintage moments are what made RHOBH so great back in the day!  You would never catch the current cast casually cooking in their own kitchen prior to a party, but Lisa and Adrienne got down to business in the kitchen!  Do you have a favorite moment from the early seasons of a franchise?  Let us know in the comments!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be back in 2020!
