Real Housewives of Orange County: What’s going on with Braunwyn?

The newest member of The Real Housewives of Orange County threw herself a weaning party on this week’s episode and it was…odd.

Thie week’s Real Housewives of Orange County celebrated a milestone!  And this is in no way a mom-shaming situation.  Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her husband Sean share seven children together.  This week’s party was dubbed a “weaning party,” because after breastfeeding for 19 years, she is finally done with that part of her life.

Prior to the party when Braunwyn was sitting around in sweats with her friends is probably the most real she’s been on the season so far.  I like the glimpse into “real life” amidst all the rehearsed stuff.  Being a housewife is not always fancy parties and fancy cars, these are the “in-between” moments that I appreciate.

Cue the weaning party

There are boobs, there are dancers, there are lots of random gifts that make no sense, but most of all, there’s Braunwyn…acting a fool.  I hate to say it, but this might have been one of the worst parties on the franchise.  It just felt so…forced.  Braunwyn comes across as someone who watched RHOC for a long time and came on the show with a persona she thought the audience would respond to.

While everyone is at the party, Braunwyn invites the girls to a trip to Miami / Key West.  Shannon Storms Beador doesn’t like Key West because that’s where David presumably started his affair.  Right after that moment, the strippers come out to play.  I’m slightly confused about this party and the party favors.  There’s definitely a male movie star there who prefers to star in films for the over 18 crowd lurking in the kitchen.  And Braunwyn licked the wonderful boob cake Tamra provided.

The one thing I will say is that Tamra Judge…judging Braunwyn for being too drunk on camera is just rich.  If anyone has embarrassed themselves on camera while under the influence of alcohol, it’s Tamra.

We’ve seen her pee her pants, jump into a hot tub and break her foot, film a scene in a bathtub with her husband that no one wanted to see, make out on the floor of a restaurant mid-meal.  I mean, give me a break Tamra. I can’t tell if she’s just jealous that Braunwyn has stolen the drunk-and-topless schtick, or what.  But all of the ladies seem to think that Braunwyn goes “too far” and gets “too drunk,” but is it all an act?
