The Real Housewives of Atlanta: 3 standout moments from the Season 12 premiere

The Real Housewives of Atlanta started last night with season 12 with two tiny new additions – baby Pilar Jhena and baby Brooklyn!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is back for another incredibly dramatic season featuring  Cynthia Bailey, Eva Marcille, Kandi Burruss, Nene Leakes, Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore.  The trailer for this season came out before they even filmed the second half of the season, which gives me so much hope for the drama to come!

Bring on the babies!

We added Porsha’s daughter Pilar Jhena and Kenya’s daughter, Brooklyn, to the mix.  Kandi has a baby of her own on the way, but they are using a surrogate for the process! Getting to meet all of the newest RHOA babies was definitely a highlight of the premiere.   It’s always fun to see how someone’s life has changed since we last saw them – especially if they were unceremoniously demoted (ahem, Kenya.)

Has anyone seen Nene?

The second standout moment was not necessarily a moment, but a lack of moment.  Mrs. Nene was notably absent from the episode.  Last year, the season ended with Nene having a meltdown in her closet.

Nene was allowing the girls to peak into her closet but when a cameraman went in, she grabbed his shirt and ripped it.  She screamed and yelled until everyone cleared out, some of the girls even leaving because of her behavior.  Apparently production was not thrilled with her nonsense, and Nene refused to film for a bit after.

It was speculated that she wouldn’t be included in the premiere episode (episodes?) as some sort of punishment.  I do believe that as a full-time wife, she gets paid either way.  We know that Nene is going to be fighting with literally everyone this season, so just because she’s not showing up now, doesn’t mean she won’t be later.  Hurricane Nene is here to destroy everything in her path.

Sincerely, drama

Next up we have the Porsha / Dennis McKinley / Sincerely Ward drama, which was all over the blogs over the summer.  Producers even shared the clip that broke the news on a drama channel!  The alleged other women, Sincerely, approached Cynthia, Eva, and Kandi at Old Lady Gang while they were eating, to let them know she had never even met Dennis.  Watch the clip here on Bravo’s site in case you missed it.  I mean, I knew we were going to hear about it, but they went all in!

We didn’t get too far into the baby daddy drama in the first episode, but all of the ladies seem to have Porsha’s back.  Just last week, Porsha spoke to Us Weekley to say that she and Dennis are “day by day rebuilding our relationship.”  Unfortunately, the messy parts are about to play out on camera…
