The incident between Michael Darby and the Real Housewives of Potomac cameraman has been dragged out since September 2018, but last night we finally got to see the event.

The Real Housewives of Potomac couple, Ashley Darby and her husband Michael Darby, have been wrapped up in a lawsuit since September of 2018, stemming from an incident at Monique Samuels rainbow party.

Setting the scene

The event was filmed, with a full camera crew, audio crew, and lots of people mingling about. Michael had said inappropriate things to some of the other RHOP husbands prior, which was not a good look for him.

In the most recent episode, Ashley and Michael went on a local television channel in Washington DC, Fox 5, to discuss his innocence.

On the news, they say that Michael did not do it and that the allegations were false.  Ashley and Michael also say that there was no evidence of this event or any witness.

But…there were witnesses.  Candiace Dillard Bassett,  saw it, her husband Chris saw it, there was one other witness.

The event at the event

Bravo had footage surrounding the event the entire time.  You see Michael walk by, some noise, some shuffling.  Michael says, “Hey bud, you alright?” Then he goes to stand next to Ashley as if nothing happened.  You hear some voices.  Michael apologizes, you hear someone else say “please don’t do that!” The voice is labeled “Cameraman.”

Monique tweeted last night saying that part of the audio Bravo played during the playback was not Michael or the cameraman, but her cousin, Hank.  The audio from Hank is muffled, but Michael replies, “I didn’t touch your butt. Come on I’ll get a beer.” Monique says that is her cousin, Hank.

In a reply to Monique’s tweet, Hank responds and said that he and Michael had a conversation earlier that day, and that was the audio heard when they played back the footage.

Guilty, or not?

The other cast members definitely think Michael is guilty.  The way they have approached the incident thus far definitely paints a picture that they either saw Michael do this or have seen Michael act in a similar way previously.

The lawsuit was dismissed and the charges were dropped. The charges were apparently dropped due to insufficient evidence.  The cameraman has since quit.  But did Michael do it?

Does this episode of RHOP change anything for you?  After how all of this was portrayed in the news, by the media, by the other wives – I’m left even more confused. What are your thoughts?

The Real Housewives of Potomac is on Sundays at 8 PM ET on Bravo.
