Meghan King Edmonds has been in the news lately thanks to her husband, but now the former RHOC star is in the news for her son’s recent diagnosis.
Just days after the former RHOC husband’s cheating scandal hit the news, Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds took their son, Hart, into the hospital for an MRI.
Meghan took to her blog to explain things in her own words: Hart was diagnosed with minor Periventricular Leukomalacia.
According to CerebralPalsy.org, Periventricular Leukomalacia. is “a type of brain damage that involves the periventricular white matter of the brain. Damage to the white matter results in the death and decay of injured cells, leaving empty areas in the brain.”
They give a statistic that says 60-100% of infants with periventricular leukomalacia are diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and Hart is being monitored for the condition.
Meghan’s twins, Hart and Hayes, are both 13 months old. Meghan said she knew something was different about Hart right away, from the way he drank milk, to the way he was unable to fully straighten his legs.
Though this is devastating news to receive, Meghan seems to be taking it in stride and remaining strong for her family.
Based on her Instagram posts from the 4th of July, Meghan, Hart, Hayes, and Aspen spent the holiday walking in a parade and the boys even got to have a popsicle for the first time!
Meghan also mentioned their father, Jim Edmonds, is on the road with the St. Louis Cardinals and wasn’t able to be with them.
We wish Meghan the best with Hart’s diagnosis and whatever the future holds for their family.
Meghan is no longer on RHOC, or even in the OC, but has stayed friends with the ladies as she navigates through life, post-housewives.
Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Orange County is back on Bravo Tuesday, August 6, at 9 PM ET.
